We couldn’t be more excited to present an Exclusive Mix & Story from the one and only Hardwell! Ahead of the release of his label’s Revealed Miami compilation and Hardwell’s busy MMW schedule, he’s crafted an ID filled mix perfectly fit for the vibe of Miami. Enjoy a look at some of his favorite artists of the moment, a preview of his Hardwell presents Revealed Miami Edition 2017 event, and of course, a sneak peek at what goes into his headlining Ultra set!
Can you highlight a few artists that should we should be on the lookout this year in Miami?
Kaaze, Sick Individuals, Magnificence, Suyano and Maddix for sure! They have a lot of new music coming out around Miami, I’m really excited about the next generation of artists.
What can party goers expect from the Revealed Miami event on Thursday during MMW? What was it like curating the lineup for that event?
We are going to build the night starting with more electronic acts such as Rico & Miella who just did a track on Revealed, and also more melodic guys like Kaaze will play during the day. It’s going to be a day event so we have some cool names such as Henry Fong and Moksi as well, and of course Dannic, Thomas Newson, Sick Individuals and Blasterjaxx who will all make sure everyone is going crazy until I close the day. I’m also going to invite some guests during my sets so I look forward to seeing some 1001Tracklists visitors in Miami :)
What does it mean to you to be able to host so many Revealed events across the world, giving a platform to showcase guys who have released on the label and grow your brand?
It’s really cool to see that Revealed gets global recognition. We've worked really hard in the last 7 years on the branding and music aspect of the label. The future of labels is pushing artists through label branding so doing events is a huge part of creating a platform for the young talent out there.
You’ve really become engrained in the Ultra family. What does it mean to you to return to the Ultra mainstage again this year in Miami?
Ultra is one of the best festivals in the world, I really like playing Ultra because of the vibe. The crowd is really educated and everyone is open for new music. I’m always preparing new music and mashups for Ultra, and Miami is an important kick-off to the season, so expect a lot of new music this year!
Can you talk a little bit about your preparation to play a prime time Ultra Miami Mainstage slot and set the stage for your performance this year?
Playing prime time is important because you’re one of the headliners, people are expecting the best set from you and to see what you have been preparing for this special occasion. This puts a lot of pressure on my set, but with new music from me and my label Revealed. I’m confident that the crowd will get the best mix between new music and known music. I’ll play a mix with the best of both worlds, I just finished a new track and the visual guys are already working on it so the crowd can expect a big show with lights, visuals and of course music. It's definitely going to be something special and I'm confident that they will love it.
Hardwell takes over the Mainstage at Ultra Music Festival on Sunday, March 26th at 6:45 PM.
