How would you describe your sound, and what are the key influences behind it?
As a duo, our sound draws a lot of inspiration from many places including hip-hop/house/disco/techno and we try to combine that with our own taste of energetic tech house. We just want the dance floor to go off.

You will release your new track "Pulse" with Sam Collins September 27th on Showtek's SKINK Records. Can you tell us more about your upcoming track? How did this collaboration come about?
We met Sam Collins over a year ago now and we were all hanging out and we just loved each other's vibe so we asked if Sam would be up for a collaboration with us. Our goal is to bring tech house to more of the mainstream market here in Taipei, and Sam wanted to join us in making that happen. Obviously it was a bit tough being on different sides of the world and Sam always travelling on tour, but we just sent each other the track back and forth. Eventually, Sam had the chance to join us for one of our events and we made use of the studio at that time.

Working with Sam Collins must bring different musical influences into the mix. How did your styles merge in the production process?
I think even though our different musical influences were thrown into the mix, we all in some way had a similar taste in what we liked out of the process. The sound selection process was very important to all three of us. There wasn't really much we didn't agree on.

It marks your first release on SKINK Records. What does it mean to you to have support from the Skink Records team, and what do you like about working with them?
The team at SKINK Records have been absolutely amazing. They are so on top of their game, all the way from the creative process to pushing out the release. They have also given us other opportunities are getting behind the song to push it, which has been a great help. So a big thank you to both Showtek and SKINK Records. More to come in the future hopefully!

The tech house/house scene in Taiwan is really starting to grow. How have you seen it evolve since you first started?
Yes! When we started a year ago, there would not have been tech house being played in the main rooms of some of the bigger clubs here, but now we are starting to see other DJs throw it into their sets. Now you are starting to see not just the more mainstream tech house being played, but instead Latin inspired or UK "Toolroom Records" music, or even more deep tech being played in maintime slots. It's really great to be a part of that here in Taiwan and we hope to continue to push this with everyone here and the world.

What role do you think your show 'Red Light District' plays in shaping the scene and introducing new sounds to local audiences?
So we organized our 'Red Light District' series primarily in an underground club here named Studio 9. A lot of the music we make seems a bit too underground for the mainstream clubs and a bit too on the other end for the underground clubs. That being said, 'Red Light District' is a really good night to merge both of those into one room and really get that party vibe going. We are actually reaching our one year anniversary of 'Red Light District' and we can't wait to see what that night can bring.

Regarding your mix, can you talk us through some of the track selections and the energy you wanted to bring to this set?
So both of our styles of music include finding that right balance of both underground and more party songs for our sets. We just want to play a sick show and show the crowd what we've been vibing to recently as well as testing a lot of our own unreleased tracks. We want the energy to stay consistent.

And finally, what can we expect from Take Note for the end of the year?
Not long to the end of the year now, but you can expect some remixes on our SoundCloud, another video of a festival we're playing at during Halloween, another single and an EP release from us. The year is not finished yet and we still have a lot to share.
