NGHTMRE has continued his booming growth since releasing his breakthrough track “Street” in 2015 and is coming off of a huge year of releases, including “Need You” with Dillon Francis and “Feel Your Love” with Flux Pavilion. In that time he's also continued his close work with duo Slander, churning out top tracks together, hosting their own events and embarking on the wildly successful Gud Vibrations tour. Now on the cusp of his debut Ultra Music Festival performance in a primteime slot Sunday evening, NGHTMRE has delivered a massive Exclusive Mix to raise excitement levels to a peak. Turn it up loud and enjoy his story previewing his Ultra set and highlighting his Gud Vibrations MMW event with Slander.
What does it mean to you make your Ultra Music Festival debut this year?
Ultra is a festival I've always dreamed of playing. Almost every legendary dance music act has performed there and 5 years ago I attended the festival as a fan. To be on the stage this year is very special to me.
And you’ve got an awesome set time, 7pm Sunday night!! Can you talk to us a little bit about what people can expect from your set?
I always like to play a little bit of everything in my sets. I definitely plan on putting some extra heavy tracks in the Ultra set and plenty of unreleased NGHTMRE music!
We are sure we will hear some new music! What can you tell us about some of your new productions? Can you share any more info about “On The Run”?
Yes! “On the Run” will be the first single from my new EP. I have a few other tracks coming before it drops, but I'm really excited for everything in the EP. It's easy to get self-conscious when sharing your creative work with other people, but I'm really happy with how everything came together and I think the fans will really appreciate the diversity of style on the EP.
We feel pretty confident that we will hear your bootleg of “Goosebumps.” Can you talk about the inspiration for that one and how the remix has been going off in your sets?
I love the original track. I began playing it my sets, but couldn't find a track I liked to mix it with, so I decided to make a simple remix. I made the whole thing on a flight from Orlando to Santa Cruz and the first time I played it I knew it was good. It became a staple in our Gud Vibrations sets and once I figured out a way to upload it to SoundCloud I decided to give it to the fans for free.
Also during MMW you get to host your own Gud Vibrations event with Slander, which is huge! Can you take us through your journey with those two – from first meeting, to producing all your hit tracks together, to your tour together, and now your new joint radio show?
Yes! We're so excited for that. Me and Derek from Slander originally met at music production school in Los Angeles and immediately became friends. We had similar tastes and styles and naturally began writing music together. We always dreamed of hosting our own Gud Vibrations events and last year we were able to have the first ever show in Miami. Safe to say this year is going to be bigger and better!

What’s it like DJing B2B with Slander and how do those sets compare to your solo sets?
They're definitely a little different. Like I said, we have similar tastes so we still play a lot of the same music, but we always try to balance the bass-heavy tracks with the melodic and uplifting tracks.
Can you highlight another artist or two on the lineup and what makes them stand out?
Habstrakt is an absolute legend who I have looked up to for a long time. We had him on the bus tour and he really has an amazing sound. It's so defined and energetic. He's always creating and releasing new music and is one of the best sound designers I've met. Plus he's just an awesome dude to hang out with.
Rickyxsan is another awesome newcomer we've been supporting. His music all sounds incredibly unique, but maintains the high energy trap vibe that we love. Definitely can expect to see him around a lot in the coming months.
You can catch NGHTMRE playing b2b with Slander at their Gud Vibrations event on Wednesday, March 22nd [tickets] and Sunday at 7:00 PM on the Ultra Worldwide stage.
